Week threee - 3.0

Respectable week. Used all my points but not until Thursday at lunchtime, five hours before weigh-in. Finished my 3rd jog of the week at lunch today. Hmm ...

This could be a bit confusing. My weight-watchers week runs Thurs to Thurs. My running weeks runs Mon-Mon. It's kinda like the Judaic calendar changing Easter all the time. You'll just ahve to keep up I'm afraid.

Lessons learned in Week 3

1) One should not attempt to explain to one's co-workers how one's pants have political views unless one doesn't mind getting that look that the girls used to give one in high school.

2) Fat free sour cream actually tastes worse than you'd think.

3) It is possible to use your points allowance for food as well as alcohol.

4) People at weight watcher's meetings have very little appreciation for dry wit.

I think you can generalize your comment about the appreciation of dry wit to the entire population. Which is why I think we dry-wit appreciators tend to congregate, and not usually at WW meetings.

I was at a WW meeting today where there was quite a lot of good humor on display but it was mostly of the obvious, sophomoric variety. The meeting leader had made up a hand-out with pictures representing some of the WW Healthy Guidelines, etc. There was a somewhat vague picture of a multivitamin bottle. "Does that mean we should take drugs?" Yuk yuk! "Yeah, looks like a laxative bottle!" Hardi har...

Another picture showing a glass of water. "Is that vodka? Should we all just be getting drunk?" Bwah ha!

I don't believe dry wit would have gone over well with this crowd either.

By the way, congrats on the ongoing loss. Is it feeling more maintainable? The results may tighten up a bit -- not as many 6 pound loss weeks to look forward to -- but slow and steady WILL win the race!
