The Beer Diet
So haven't returned to the plan here. I went jogging the other day, but it was the first time in a week. Eating a bit less and still drinking beer. Back on coffee, but only modestly. I stop by Starbucks in the morning (sometimes for a measley grande) and that does me for the day. I continue to lose weight. This morning I hit 194.5 -- 10 offical pounds lost.
So it continues.
35 days down, 65 to go
weight: 194.5

Are you back on the program?
Don, last year I was able to drop from 215 lbs. to 185 lbs. in pure fat loss through combining weight lifting, running, and proper diet. The hardest part was the diet.
Anyhoo, I used www.bodybuilding.com as a resource, and it helped me a lot more than previous attempts at weightloss which involved mainly running. I also read that you have to be running at least 30 miles a week to start to see significant fat reduction from a running-only program.
The diet is the most important thing, though, and it is the hardest to maintain. I quickly got burnt out on egg whites and craved pizza, alcohol, and sweets which were absolute no-no's.
Unfortunately for me, the chess training has limited my time severely, and I have since abandoned my attempts to stay in good shape. Perhaps when I am through with the tactical portion of my chess training I will return to working out and dieting. Maybe I will even blog it like you're doing here.
